2021 Sundance Film Festival: Asia Short Film Competition

CALLING FOR ENTRIES FROM INDONESIAN FILMMAKERS

Our mission at Argo is to discover, nurture and bring attention to emerging talents from all around the globe. 

We have teamed up with Sundance Film Festival: Asia,  XRM Media, and IDN Media to celebrate the diverse voices and filmmakers from Indonesia. 

SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN through July 9, 2021 to Indonesian citizens, living domestically or abroad, 18 years or older. Filmmakers can submit short films across any genre or theme that have been completed on or after January 1, 2019, with a duration of 3 to 20 minutes.

A jury of representatives from Argo, The Sundance Institute, and IDN Pictures will curate a collection of the best Indonesian short films  to be screened at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival: Asia in September.  The committee will select a Jury Award winner who will receive a $2000 USD cash prize sponsored by Argo. The selected shorts will also be submitted for consideration in the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, and earn worldwide digital distribution on Argo.  We are committed to supporting diverse and underrepresented communities –  to providing Asian filmmakers with much-deserved access to the film industry and connecting them with a wider audience.
